Common is asked about drake beef and says “If you put me in the ring with anybody on the mic, I’ma destroy them.”
Recently, Common was asked how this feud could end. He took the opportunity to shed light on why the rhyme battle began, saying that he’s prepared to “destroy,” but adding that he doesn’t dislike Drake personally.
“I really honestly don’t know how things will end,” he shared in an interview with Bossip. “I just want to put out there that it’s not a thing where I don’t like him as a human being or like I got something against him personally. That’s not what it is. You dissed me on record. I know you felt a certain way about certain things so if you dissed me so I had to say what I had to say. If you come at me, I’ma fight until the end. I’m not talking about physical. I’m talking about emceeing.”
Common also added that he isn’t just confident in a battle with Drake. Instead, Com noted that he feels he can stand toe-to-toe with any emcee in a rhyme bout.
“I feel like if you put me in the ring with anybody on the mic, I’ma destroy them. I don’t care who it is. That’s how I feel. At the end of the day, that’s how every emcee should feel.” Video below
De La Soul’s Posdnuos recently spoke with HipHopSite.com, chatting what the group currently has in the making. During the interview, he said that the crew has been working on material and has a “lot of great music in the bag,” with plans to release new music in the near future.
“Definitely. Got a lot of great music already in the bag,” he said. “Honestly, this is how it works. We’re our worst critics. When I look back on some of the stuff we’ve already got in the can, I’m like, why didn’t we put this out? We planning on throwing out a couple of joints. Right now, really soon, on the Internet quick, but we’re finishing up different projects.”
De La’s gonna be working with Prince Paul on future projects, Pos explained that the group is contemplating the title You’re Welcome for their pending album, but that he’s unsure if it will stick. He did confirm that the “Art Official Intelligence” series will not be continued.
“Pretty much. I mean, it’s just, for me, I’ve been over it. The fans, I have to keep saying ‘Yeah, maybe,’ because it was more or less something that was a DJ album.”
Masta Ace recently spoke on the beef between MC Shan and Marley Marl that popped up over beat-jacking accusations. During a interview Brooklyn Bodega Radio on PNCRadio.fm – Juice Crew member said he was disappointed to see them beefin over a song recorded decades ago.
“It’s a little sad, man. To kind of think about the history of them. They both kind of came up together. To see kind of — after 30 years or something — dwindle down to taking shots at each other on the internet, I thought it was pretty bad. Pretty weak,” he said.

He also touched on the upcoming Juice Crew reunion tour in Europe, and that Kool G Rap isn’t on board yet. “We have a tour allegedly coming up in April. We’re going to Europe. All of us. Everybody. The whole Juice Crew. The only one up in the air still is G Rap. G Rap is still a little up in the air. We’re all supposed to be getting on a plane and riding in buses and vans together. I had meetings trying to get a camera crew or a couple of camera crews to travel with us. The reason why it hasn’t happened yet is because the people that are organizing the tour don’t have their stuff together.”
